Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Rocky. He is a 2 year old Shepherd mix, who truly looks like a mini shepherd. He weighs 38lbs and has a short-medium hair coat. He was surrendered by his owner as she couldn't look after him. She kept giving him away and he kept running back home to his original owner. Rocky is one of the nicest, sweetest dogs, we have ever had join our Rescue. He is calm, quiet, very affectionate, and loving. He quickly will fall asleep on your lap, he just loves to be held and cuddled. Rocky is not mouthy and and doesn't paw you. He definitely is focused, a trait of the Shepherd. This boy is very smart and trains easily. He has excellent recall. We have yet to hear him bark, so he is not a noisy dog. He loves to sleep in the bed with his foster family but will sleep on a doggie bed if need be. Rocky knows how to sit on command and is food motivated. He was too thin when he arrived so we had him initially on puppy food to gain weight. He is now at the optimum weight . He is fed 1 cup of food twice daily. He gets along great in his multiple dog foster home. The Rescue we got him from, said he was afraid of the cat they tested him with and ran away. We believe he would be fine with cats. He does love all people and children. Rocky rides well in the vehicle and will walk on a lead and body harness. This boy is perfectly housebroken. The ideal home for Rocky is one where he will receive lots of physical affection. This is a very family-oriented dog. He would be fine with another resident dog or on his own. Rocky is neutered, up to date with vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and currently on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. He is also Microchipped. He was fully treated for Ehrlichia. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory to apply for Rocky.
