Ragnar is a 3-year old, pure bred weimaraner that was purchased from Blue & Gray Weimaraners. He is extremely affectionate and loving towards members of our household, but he is very skittish around strangers. He began having behavioral issues shortly after the death of our 6-yr old pug. He has separation anxiety. We have to medicate him if we are gone very long or he will bark, pant, drool and rub his nose raw against his kennel. Ragnar nipped the butt of a child that got inside of his kennel. He nipped the butt of another child that was chasing our son in the yard. He also nipped the leg of an adult that showed up unannounced and scared him when he walked around the corner and they were right there. All of these bites were not vicious and did not break the skin.
We purchased another dog (lab) 8 months ago, hoping it would help Ragnar’s behavioral issues. He plays great with the new dog, but his behavioral issues have not improved. We are not comfortable having strangers over
