My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max Spaniel is an adult spaniel mix originally found as a stray, very matted. Approx 5-6 years old. 25 lbs. Chocolate brown with a little white. He is neutered and has his shots. House trained and has had basic training. He will need patience in a new home as he is someone who needs time to warm up to you, and he is also a dog that picks his people. But he does much better when he is around other dogs (his size or smaller), because he likes being part of a pack.

He did well in a foster home. In that home, where he had other dog friends (all small dogs), he was happy. He took a few days to warm up, but after that he followed both his foster mom and dad around and let them pet him.

He will need work on meeting strangers. But he responds to commands, such as sit, stay, and no. He did very well when we brought him to this year's Groom Expo West; he had no problems being groomed in front of a large crowd.
