My story

Kono is a big beautiful boy with soulful expressive eyes, a gentle nature and is 100% lover. He gets his gorgeous exotic appearance from a combination of Akita, Siberian Husky and German Shepherd.

He may have been someone’s backyard dog who didn’t get the chance to explore and experience life. But that’s all changed now and we’re helping him make up for lost time.

It’s incredibly rewarding to see his growth and his expression when that light bulb moment occurs and he realizes he’s mastered something new! We take for granted simple things dogs should do, like ride in the car, take a bath, meet new people, get brushed and groomed and walk on a leash.

Kono has overcome many of his insecurities and trusted us enough to follow our lead. He now loves to go for car rides, has gotten a bath, been groomed, has great leash manners and has met many new people and other dogs. And we’ve only just begun!

He is resilient, open and willing. We still have some work to do but he’s making remarkable progress. He gets rewarded with treats and we get rewarded with kisses!

Kono will need a guardian who will continue to introduce him to new situations in a gradual, process. Patience and knowing when to proceed and when to pull back, will be rewarded with Kono’s love and loyalty. Kono will benefit from someone who’s lifestyle finds him/her at home most of the time initially.

We think he may do well with a social, confident, female canine companion who can show him the ropes.

We think he’s between four to five years old. He seems to know sit, lie down and shake paw. Someone spent some time with him.

This sweet boy is waiting for his forever home.
