Here's what the humans have to say about me:
* Currently in Texas * AJ is part of a litter of puppies that was abandoned in a yard in Texas. AJ is currently being fostered with his siblings by one of our great fosters. AJ is a beautiful puppy in need of a loving home.
AJ was afraid at first when meeting a new dog. The other dog was a full grown male Great Dane. After watching and walking around the Dane he came over to explore and became better acquainted. Potty training is a work in progress and he is starting to understand the concept. AJ is crate trained. He sleeps in the bedroom at night. He's also doing well on a leash for short periods of time.
AJ understands Sit, Off
Go in your house when crating is necessary.
No Sir-one command used for any undesirable behavior in a low tone.
Good boy- again one command for good behavior given in a higher tone.
AJ is an intelligent dog and is very attuned to his human. He is showing some guarding instincts. It takes him little time to figure out what is expected. He is gentle and if exposed to other small animals and children he should adjust well. He is crate trained and will walk in when given the command to, "Go into your house." There is a strong possibility AJ is part Mastiff. He has some of those traits. When he gets tired and is comfortable he will refuse to move. From the size of his paws, he will be a good size dog. With the right consistent environment, he will make a great gentle giant for a pet.
If you are interested in AJ, please fill out the application and we will be in touch!
Please note: We are unable to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time
All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, Adopt a Pet and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue and veterinary care of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes. The transport fee is an additional $206.89.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
Ready to Adopt? The next step is to fill out our Adoption Application. A volunteer will contact you to review your application and see if your family might be the right match.
