My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We adopt only in the Greater St. Louis Area.

In the words of Connor's foster dad:

Why hello there, my name is Connor McLuvin, of the Clan McLuvin. I am a very person oriented lad who is very grateful for the company of a human. I get along with other dogs but human company is really what I enjoy most. I enjoy time on the sofa and even snuggling in the bed while my petting quota is being met. I am not a bed hog and earned the nickname “potato” because once I have a good spot in the bed, I just lay there like a potato. I don’t like fireworks and thunder much, but if I am beside you on the sofa or in the bed, I know it is all good and you are safe as well. Along with human company, I enjoy hiking, long walks and going for rides in the car… the door opens and I am somewhere new! I have been hearing the word “off” a lot and understand what it means but I like to hug and nuzzle my head on you for a good scratch and hug – is that asking too much?

Being a mixed breed brings on some unique things about me, especially the adventure part. I can reach counters to see what is up there when I am curious and have been known to check out tables as well. That’s where the word “off” comes in again, so I need to watch my adventures in the house. On the upside, I don't claw furniture or chew on things, other than a good bone or toy. I am also crate trained but don’t prefer that when fireworks or thunder are in the air.

Although I turned seven a few months ago, I still feel like a young pup and still get the zoomies… My foster dad just laughs at me and my three-year-old foster dog sister just sits and watches me as I zoom around the yard. I really don’t understand why they don’t join in! I do not feel my age and a fenced in backyard is a must. I don’t know if I can swim and am not sure if I want to find out, if you put a potato in water, does it sink?

On a side note, Conner is a very affectionate dog and melts into almost everyone he meets. He is the only dog I have ever seen that draws out almost the entire vet staff to say hi and love on him. In the world of dogs, he is genuinely grateful and was well loved before he came to the rescue. Not all rescue dogs have had a bad life and Connor is a prime example of that.

Connor is a Corgi/Cattle Dog mix. Connor is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Connor had a severe ear infection and a minor surgery on one ear. He is now doing well. We DO NOT adopt to homes with small children. A fenced yard is required. No electronic fences. Please note that a dog park is not a substitute for a fenced yard.
