PLEASE don't overlook such an amazing and resilient pup!
Regardless of her rough start to life, Lucha has never once given up hope. She has more than lived up to her full name; Luchadora which translates to “fighter”. She is a precious 3-year-old terrier mix who weighs around 43 pounds. This tough girl now rocks just two legs and yet she is still faster than the speed of lightning. Lucha is unstoppable and a true inspiration to all. With a heart of gold, she gets along great with other dogs, cats, and older children. She loves spending her days chasing lizards, greeting the neighbors on walks, and playing with her favorite toys. She is an expert cuddler and prefers a warm lap over anything. Life improves drastically with Lucha in it and we just know that there is a special family out there for this one-of-a-kind girl!
Special Needs: Lucha was found abandoned next to a dumpster with severe injuries and in dire need of medical attention. Thanks to the quick thinking and kind hearts of the local firemen who found her, her life was saved from certain death. After further diagnostics, X-rays concluded that Lucha has a congenital defect that was likely present at birth. Some of the vertebrae are pushed together very tightly resulting in partial paralysis. Lucha is still very mobile and despite having limited feeling below the waist, she manages to go potty on her puppy pads the majority of the time.
Lucha is seeking a family that is home most of the day as she requires a bit more attention than a typical dog. She will gladly reward her family with plenty of kisses in return! If you live in the central Florida area, own your home, and think Lucha may be the right pup for you, please read over our adoption process and fill out an adoption screening form here: https://mettarescuefamily.org/adoptable-dogs
