Before Anne was rescued, she was part of the TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) program. TNR programs typically return the dogs back originally to where they were trapped. However, in the past few years in Taiwan, too many cases of these dogs being returned to unfamiliar places. This new practice is quite dangerous for the TNR dogs because the local strays could get territorial. Another danger for the TNR dogs is that, since they are unfamiliar with these new places, they don’t know how to avoid traffic. Anne, sadly, was one of these TNR dogs returned to an unfamiliar location. She was very helpless and scared, until she met her rescuer. Her rescuer gave Anne some food, and Anne started following the rescuer. However, the rescuer, who already has many dogs at her house, could not take Anne home that day. Anne did not give up and continued to follow the rescuer. The rescuer did not have the heart to leave Anne there, and contacted a friend to temporarily foster Anne.
During her days with her foster family, Anne has been very sweet and affectionate. She likes to look at her foster family members with loving eyes. Like many rescuers, Anne gets a little bit shy and nervous in a new environment. However, as such a resilient girl she’s been, she learns to observe and adjust in a very short time. She tends to open up to new people and places the next day. In the beginning, her first foster mom would leave Anne at home by herself when she had to go to work. Anne would show her anxiety but crying and whimpering. Anne was terrified of being abandoned again. Her foster family was very patient in slowly training and building her confidence back. Now, she feels quite safe and secure when she’s left at home. Anne is house-trained for apartment-living. She knows how to use pee pads. She does, however, enjoy going potty outside and would prefer to do her business outside if possible.
Anne’s current foster family has three dogs (small and mid-size dogs), and she gets along with them very well. Overall, Anne is a very sweet and easy-going girl, and is waiting patiently for her forever home.
