My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please, no calls/texts. Complete an application for this amazing dog if you are interested in adopting.
IF HE IS STILL LISTED, WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.

Apollo LOVES to snuggle! He is playful and has puppy energy. He would do well with someone wanting to take their new little friend with them for adventures such as car rides, visits to lazy dog café, to pick up your morning cup of coffee or to visit family and friends (but not hiking or long walks). He absolutely loves to cuddle and prefers to sleep with you on the human bed! He learned to climb the pet stairs to get up and down from the bed safely. However he had IVDD and recovered from being paralyzed. So we lift him up on the bed. He knows the doggy door and he goes outside to do his business. He lives with 9 other French Bulldogs in his foster home so he is very well socialized. Apollo will likely take the role of the alpha dog in his new household.

Apollo has an atypical coat for a French Bulldog. He is silky smooth to the touch and feels so nice to pet! Apollo is absolutely ADORED by his foster family and they want to see him go to the very best place possible. He is a total sweetheart and he has a fantastic personality. Apollo won’t do well with someone gone all day long as he will chew on things if he gets overly bored. His foster parents have left him while they are out for work and he does fine when given access to 1 inside room (not free reign of the house) with outdoor access, but this wouldn’t be his preference. He will not be happy if he's crated. Apollo entered rescue with a traumatic injury. He was only utilizing 3 of his 4 legs (which is the cutest darn gait you’ll see!) However he then had a medical emergency with IVDD and ended up paralyzed temporarily. We have nursed him back to health and he is now running and playing again. Apollo was seen by a vet for his leg and spine. We had x-rays done to check this prior leg injury and we had physical therapy on his spine. There is nothing medically needed; just expect an adorable hop skip and a jump from this adorable boy! (He runs like a bunny)

Apollo has had a full blood panel done and all blood came back normal. Apollo is Neutered, Vaccinated and Microchipped. He will be sent to his adoptive home with his permanent Identification tags and harness. The rescue prefers adoptive family consider pet insurance for any of the dogs considered a French Bulldog breed. In Apollos case, pet insurance is a requirement.

Note: our adoption fee is higher than our usual as we have spent over $5,000 on his medical care; thus his adoption fee is a small portion of what has been spent.

If you aren’t in a position to make a lifetime commitment to an animal, but you want the perks of a dog in your home; consider our foster program. We have many healthy happy dogs needing temporary housing. Please complete the foster form if you are interested in opening your home, or the adoption application if you are interested in adopting Apollo. If you are interested in helping the rescue offset some of the medical bills for French Bulldogs in need, please visit our website or make a donation directly to our vets office. www.saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form
