Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rhett is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.
Rhett was rescued from a fast kill, small town, dog pound. We are just making a guess about his breed. He has very soft black fur with a bit of blue merle on the tips of his toes. He could be part Newfie or something completely different. Rhett is a cutie, He is between 3 and 4 months old and weighs 33 pounds. Rhett is a good, outgoing, active puppy. He loves toys and playing with other dogs and puppies. He has not been around cats so he might be able to get along with them if properly trained. Rhett is still a puppy that must be trained, and further socialization is very important. He is doing well with housetraining but will still have accidents if he cannot get out when he needs to. He also occasionally chews on things. We do crate him when we are gone on errands and at night. He does not like being crated but it is necessary until he is housetrained. At night, he sleeps in a crate next to his foster mom's bed and is okay with that. Rhett must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and he would like to have a securely fenced yard to run and play.
Rhett is healthy. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Rhett will receive his 3rd puppy vaccination on August 7th, but he may be adopted now and transported if the adopter agrees to make sure he gets his third shot. Rhett has a $500.00 adoption fee that includes ground transport via Mightly Mutt Shipping for pickup in White River Junction VT, Brattleboro VT, Nashua NH, or Hampton NH. He is being fostered in Texas and will not be sent north until after he is adopted.
