Hi! I’m Franklin. I am an approximately 5 year old border collie Australian Shepherd mix. I am SUPER DUPER sweet but was a stray for some of my life, so I can be skittish and timid with people I don’t know.
While being a stray, I was found with a fractured scapula that is now healed (I feel so much better!!). My foster dad says I have a bright future ahead of me and that I will make the right people SO happy. I am very faithful and loyal once warmed up to you!
Franklin’s ideal home would be somewhere quiet and where his people can be there for him. As he is very sweet and gentle, he can be protective of his owner so management and understanding is going to be needed. A savvy, understanding owner is a must!!!
Franklin is sensitive and standoffish but still loves to interact with his people and animal friends. We think he would do best in a home with another friendly dog. He is getting more comfortable with people who move slow and give treats!
Franklin is a love bug!! He will cuddle and is very affectionate. As he does like car rides, he does best in an environment he is more familiar with like his home. He is slow and mellow while on leash and sometimes freezes but when walking with another dog, he’s really good! Again, Franklin does great with other dogs and they seem to be social lubricant for him and he lightens up.
What we would like to see:
-Franklin needs someone committed, understanding and savvy who can help comfort and manage his sensitivities
-a quiet predictable environment
-another dog or in household as they really seem to give him comfort.
