My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Considering adopting? The first step is to do the application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application

Pitch is a delightful, gorgeous, and affectionate long-haired girl, about 3 years old. Her main ambition in life is to be cuddled and petted. In fact, she enjoys it so much, if you try to stop before she is ready, she will grab onto your hand and try to make you continue! This can be a little scary for small children, as she grabs (gently) with both mouth and claws sometimes, so we recommend her for a home with adults and older children who can understand her body language and won't be frightened when she says "NO, DON'T LEAVE ME!" in her very special way. You can work on breaking her of this habit by letting her grab your hand, then ceasing all movement, saying "no grab," blowing gently on her nose until she lets go, and then ceasing affection at that time so she knows affection stops if she grabs you.

If you want a loving lap-cat, a friend to watch TV with you, someone who will greet you at the door with an adoring gaze and will remain utterly devoted to you, Pitch is your gal! Fair warning, though, she is a happy-drooler, so the happier she is, the soggier she gets!

In her former home, she got along fine with dogs and even goats. The other cats in her former home were beating Pitch up (perhaps because she was demanding ALL THE CUDDLES?), so we think Pitch would likely prefer to be the only cat in her new family. She is used to an indoor-outdoor lifestyle but could likely be converted to indoor-only life with plenty of windows, perches, maybe a catio.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our transport expenses, that would be great!
