My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nora
Nora is a sweet 4-5 year old German shepherd who is ready to find her forever home. She was picked up by Maricopa County Animal Control after she was found on the streets in 112 degree heat. She was so emaciated from abuse and neglect and sick from Valley Fever that she was unable to hold her head up. You could tell she lacked the will to live. She was picked up by Saving Paws and rushed to the animal hospital where she spent time as she began her recovery. There were times the vets felt she may not survive. Nora made enough progress where she could be removed from the oxygen kennel to having her own honorary spot on a big fluffy bed where she could watch all the ICU vets and techs.

Nora soaked up all the love and attention she was receiving. She just couldn’t get close enough to you and that has not changed. She began gaining weight and her health and energy improved. She is now a happy and loving girl. She loves people and is a Velcro dog. She is an amazing girl who suffered great abuse and neglect, but is still so full of love and trust.

She loves her people, food, and daily walks. She does not have a lot of stamina, but does enjoy short walks every day. She is most happy just being next to you. Nora would do best as an only dog as she does not like to share her humans. She has done well with puppies that have been placed in her foster home as well as with other adult dogs who have come to visit. Anything other than puppies (which she has unending patience for) and short-term or visitors, she does not want to share her humans.

If you can give Nora an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/

We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks.

Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
