IDGSR WELCOMES BREWER INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!

Brewer is an 8 month old Male Red/Black and Tan German Shepherd puppy.
Brewer had FHO surgery a few months ago and he is doing really good and is recovering nicely. We think this injury occurred by being clipped by a car and it broke off the top part of his hip and the surgery was very successful. Brewer has a slight limp but this does not hurt or stop this baby in anyway, he is healthy and just so happy now he is able to walk and run around and not be in pain. Brewer is such an easy going puppy we feel that as he is a bit shy he is going to need a helper dog in the home and family that will be willing to help build his confidence up he is super sweet and loving. Brewer loves other dogs so much and is an gentle soul with a heart of gold. He will not be an running/hiking partner but will be your best friend forever. He is going to be an amazing dog for someone, just look at him what a handsome boy. He is so full of love and such an gentle soul with big eyes that just melt your heart. We recommend basic training to all not only is this good for your new dog but for you too, as this is a wonderful way to bond and it is so much fun . Training is imperative for any new dog going to a new home, not only for obedience but also for trust and respect.

PASSED THE CAT TEST.

Here is a little bit about FHO.
An FHO, or femoral head ostectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip, by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone).
dogs recover fully after FHO surgery and regain essentially-normal function of the affected leg. Although the leg may have a slightly decreased range of motion or decreased limb length after surgery, these impacts are typically minimal and do not impact the pet’s quality of life.
