My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a dog who’s always ready for fun? Hades is a high-energy doggo who loves to stay busy! He would thrive in a home with plenty of activities to keep him moving. This smart boy needs both physical and mental challenges to keep him happy.

He’s a bit of an introvert when meeting new people. Slow introductions will help him feel most comfortable. Food and toys are his absolute favorite! His love for them is unmatched! He would benefit from someone who can help guide him through some resource guarding. Due to his unique needs, he’s looking for a home with adults 18+ and an experienced owner who understands how to bring out the best in him.

With a strong prey drive, he will need a home without cats or other small animals. He will also thrive being the only dog in the home. Hades is asking for a home where he can be the star of the show!

Hades is sweet, smart, and always up for some pets after a long day. If this boy sounds like the one for you, ask for a visitation today!

More about this shelter

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
