Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little 12-pound pistol is Soldier! He was rescued directly by one of our volunteers from horrible living conditions and two people with no business having companions animals. Soldier was living with a big dog, two cats, and a very large pig...all of whom he misses we're sure. It took three organizations to pull off the rescue but everyone had to be split up.
Judging Soldier's actions while in our custody, it's safe to say he did not receive a lot of attention from his humans. He is suspicious and apprehensive...tries to warn you off by barking. However, once he realizes he can trust you, he warms quickly. He has been in boarding so we haven't observed him around cats or other dogs since we brought him in. My bet is he would appreciate the friendship of another furry.
We are looking for a foster home and a forever home for Soldier and prefer someone who has experience with Little Dog Syndrome (big attitude/small dog). It is fully expected that once he relaxes and settles in, he will be such a good, sweet companion so a little time, patience, and kindness will suit him perfectly.
Soldier is thought to be a Cairn Terrier, maybe a mix. He's about 1 and a half years old, in great health, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200 but if you are interested in simply fostering him, all of your expenses, if any, will be reimbursed.
