My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Is your life dull? When you throw a ball, is there no one to bring it back? Do you have cats or dogs who just sit around yawning? Is your fenced yard silent and empty? You must have “No Sadie Syndrome.”

There is just one cure for No Sadie Syndrome and we have it. It’s Sadie! Sadie is a happy, energetic, fun loving, collie girl who will put a spring in your dog’s step, a whirl of action in your yard and a smile on your face. At just 10 months of age, Sadie has all the joy and enthusiasm of a puppy, but she comes already housetrained and crate trained. She knows several commands which she gladly obeys when she feels like it and basically ignores when she doesn’t. She rides nicely in a car and walks fairly well on a leash, though she pulls a little if something really interesting catches her eye.

If you are looking for a ferocious watch dog, keep looking. Sadie loves everyone and everything she meets. She greets other dogs with an enthusiastic invitation to play and is equally ready to have a good game with the resident kitties. The kitties react to Sadie’s overtures with indifference, but she doesn’t hold a grudge and keeps the invitation open. She also loves children and would be a wonderful playmate for active, fun loving kids who would play with her. Her enthusiasm often causes her to jump up, however, so she should be supervised around toddlers who could be knocked down or frightened by her exuberance.

Sadie is still a puppy in most ways and her foster mom doesn’t leave her alone in the house for extended periods – there are just too many interesting ways for her to get into trouble. She is very good about going into her crate, however, and she always sleeps quietly through the night. Because she is young and playful, Sadie will need a forever home that includes a fenced yard where she can run and play. Daily walks will not provide her with enough exercise. She will also need either another young active dog or playful children to help her work off all of that energy. She is extremely bright and would make a great candidate for agility if someone wanted to work with her. She also has a vertical leap that would put Michael Jordan to shame and would probably be a great Frisbee dog.

At the end of a busy play day, Sadie is ready to settle down and snuggle with her humans. She is a very loving girl who has won the hearts of everyone at her foster home. (Okay, the jury is still out with the cats, but Sadie keeps trying.)

There is no reason to continue to suffer from No Sadie Syndrome. Medical science has found the cure and she is right here at MWCR.*
