My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Like most Brittanys Daisy is smart, curious and full of energy. She would do best in a home with a fenced area where she can safely run or with an owner who can give her daily walks. She gets along great with other dogs. She has had exposure to cats and seems to do good with them as well, we have an outdoor cat and she has spent 1-2 weeks at a time at a friend's house who has indoor/outdoor cats without any problems. When Daisy gets daily exercise she will lay quietly and chew her bone or play with a toy while in the house. It usually takes her a lap or two around the house to settle down though, longer if she hasn't had enough exercise. Daisy does well with our 2 1/2 year old, once she's had a few minutes to calm down. She has been housebroken, although she may require a little extra attention for the first few days in a new home as she has spent the majority of her time in her crate the past few months. A friend of ours dog-sat her for 12 days last month and had no accidents though.

Daisy is crate-trained and has always slept and and been fed in her crate. She is used to being in the crate while we are at work and will sit quietly or chew her bone. She is in good health, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm, flea & tick prevention. She has a microchip and is AKC registered. She will be spayed prior to going to her new home. She has a tendency to get ear infections if she gets water in her ears, but if you put a cotton ball in each ear before bathing her it's not a problem. Daisy is on the smaller side, about 32 lbs and has a low-maintenance coat. We've never had her clipped and even if I don't brush her regularly she doesn't mat except a little behind her ears. She is good for baths, nail trims, using the clippers to trim the fur behind her ears and getting her shots. She's had basic obedience and learns quickly. With a little consistency she will improve on the commands she's not so good with.

History:
Daisy's family gave her up because their 10 month old is allergic and that limited their ability to have her in the house. They did not have a fenced in area for her to play outside and so giving her regular adequate time outside of her crate had become very difficult. Because their living situation and the allergies are not going to change anytime soon they have finally decided they need to find her a home where she can get the attention and exercise she deserves.
