Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Ember is a medium-energy girl. She loves to be out in the play yard with her canine pal. She has an adorable play bow when she wants to get him playing. She'll usually convince him that a few minutes of playing chase is a great idea. They will even share toys together and play tug-of-war with a rope toy.
Ember walks well on a leash and is very attentive. She already knows how to sit and will do so immediately for a treat. Teaching her new tricks should come easily to her.
She is outgoing and social with people and loves to be close to the volunteers for cuddling and kisses. She is an affectionate girl. When spending one-on-one time with Ember, she is low-key and all of her attention is on you!
A message from Ember: I am a 2-year-old, 57 lb. female
My paperwork says I am a Black Mouth Cur
Dogs: I like to play with other pups
Cats: I haven't met cats yet

We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches.
Please call all of your references (landlord if applicable, vet offices, and personal references) before filling out an application to let them know that we will be calling. We are an all-volunteer program and volunteers often make reference calls from their cell phone. It will be a number your personal reference does not recognize. We understand most people will screen their calls from unknown numbers so please tell them to keep an eye on their voicemail and give the volunteer a call back at their earliest convenience. We may end up playing phone tag with your personal references but will reach out to you if we need further assistance in reaching them.
Once we receive your application, we will check home ownership or landlord permission, personal references and vet references. We will reach out to you if we have questions during the process.
Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $450 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.
