Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Gray is a medium energy, happy boy. His tail is constantly wagging with the volunteers and he is always excited to see his favorite people to greet them with a kiss.
Gray is in a weekly training program to gain confidence. Gray feels uncomfortable around new people and will bark out of fear. The goal of his training is to teach him new commands, build a bond with his handler, and for Gray to understand that his handler will allow him to meet new people on his own terms in a way that feels safe for him. He has mastered sit and stay (rather quickly!) and is now learning how to lay down. While he is very food motivated, he's even more motivated by the praise we give him when he does what we ask him to do. We can tell he is very proud of the progress he's making and his confidence is building with each training session.
Gray's adopter should understand and respect that it's okay that he doesn't want to meet every single person but he will know how to act appropriately in a stranger's presence. Once you do have Gray's trust, he's a total love bug. He is full of affection and his entire body wiggles when he's happy.
Gray likes to be out in our play yard with a dog friend. He appreciates slow introductions with other dogs but that hasn't stopped him from making several dog friends here. He loves to wrestle and play chase. He is super fast and athletic!
Gray should live in an all adult home.
Gray is 2 years old and around 50 lb. His paperwork lists him as a shepherd mix.
