Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is a courtesy post for another rural rescuer. Queenie came to this rescue when she was about a year old. When she arrived she could get over a 5 foot fence and was moved into a covered pen. Queenie has an indoor and outdoor area and never goes to the bathroom in her indoor area.
Queenie loves people but does not like other dogs. She gives kisses and is very sweet. Her coat seems to be self cleaning because she has never been known to get dirty.
Queenie has been at this shelter about 9 years. It is a rural shelter that has very few adoptions and because Queenie doesn't like other dogs, they have not been able to send her to another rescue. We would all love to see Queenie spend her senior years in a home where she will be loved and pampered. Queenie has never been around children or cats.
Queenie does walk well on a leash. A couple of weeks ago Queenie was taken for a walk and her eyes got red. The vet checked her out and said she had an allergic reaction to something and prescribed eye drops for her. The redness is gone and this was the first time it had ever happened.
The manager of this shelter has asked me to help find the right home for Queenie. If you are interested in adopting Queenie, please contact me for an application or to ask any questions.
An indoor home is required to be able to adopt her. Anyone wanting to tie a dog outside or keep in an outside kennel will not be considered. We will require a home visit to make sure the home is right for Queenie. After 9 years in a kennel we want to make sure she has the perfect family for her.
