Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Currently in foster in Western Washington. Nellie aka Stella is a very smart girl and responds when we call her the new name.
We have learned quite a bit about this young lady over the past week. She is impossibly cute, stays totally quiet and sleeps in her crate when we drive anywhere, is rapidly getting house broken and is a smart girl. She is learning about the world around here – the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and people walking dogs. We sit and watch it all and as a puppy she will be cautious and timid for a while, but I suspect that will change once she settles into a new home environment. We practice leash walking around the yard and she is mostly loose on the leash, sits on command (with a bit of encouragement) and is learning “humans first” when going in or out of the house (no bolting). Her appetite is great, she drinks a lot of water and is current on all meds. She is going to be a very active dog – she is going to need to run and get tired every day.
She is a beautiful dog and will be ideal for the right family.
NELLIE aka Stella is a gorgeous female puppy..In foster in W Wa.
She was.born 3/4/21. We think there is some "shepherd" but just enough to give her the colors and those huge ears! Before she arrived to foster in the PNW, she was in TX being fostered in a home with 4 other large dogs, 2 cats, and a doggy door. She is almost house trained. At 12 weeks she weighed 18 lbs 9 oz. The calculation is that she could get to be 50-60#s when grown. We think she will be quite tall. She doesn't have the German Shepherd confirmation (which is typical for hip dysplasia). She has been very healthy and very happy. She will be great for an active family with children.
Please note, one of the pictures posted is from when she was a young puppy - not current. The rest of the photos are current.

GET IN LINE FIRST: If you are interested in this dog, please fill out the application (link listed above). The rescue will contact you once the application is received. Although we strive to answer everyone, due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we cannot guarantee a response to all emails. Filling out the application is the ONLY way to ensure a response from the rescue. In addition, while you are emailing us, if others apply, you lose out adopting the dog you chose. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. We try to make it as easy as possible for you but if you are applying or have applied anywhere else, we do need to know that, too.
SHANYE'S FOSTERS is a group of foster parents in the Olympia/Tumwater area. We foster dogs for rescues and assist them in adopting/rehoming of their pups/dogs by listing on this site. Many dogs posted here are available to pre adopt NOW directly from the rescue. The only ones in foster in the NW specifically state that. We have very few fosters so most need to be pre adopted. All adoption fees go towards rescuing more dogs in need. No one receives a salary. Shayne's Fosters is not responsible for any experience you have with any dog you might see posted on this site. They are the property of the sponsoring rescue who will supply all medical supporting records which is given with each dog when adopted.
Our adoption fees cover all medical costs to make sure the pups are appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed/ neutered. It also covers the cost of transport from Texas and the necessary health certificate documentation. The fees also include a negative heartworm test for any dogs over 6 months. Some dogs have additional medical care, such as FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and a myriad of other vetting. We do full disclosure of medical care/situations. If the adoption fees seem high (which never cover the true cost of rescue), we recommend fostering for a good rescue. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees. We are always in need of good fosters. We are all volunteers who donate our time and resources to help save as many dogs/pups' lives as we possibly can.
Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Over 1 billion dogs worldwide are put to sleep (PTS) annually... thousands daily. The dog pounds PTS entire litters, pregnant/nursing moms and wonderful dogs that can make someone a great companion. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
