This handsome little guy was found on the streets of Cairo when he was just weeks old. There was no mother to be found. A compassionate man took mercy on him. Knowing little Bruno would never survive at such a young age, he immediately picked him up and took him to the vet.
This kind man did not know the first thing about taking care of a kitten so he asked the vet to help him to find Bruno a home. The vet called a trusted rescue to take this kitten and adopt him abroad.
It is very common knowledge in Egypt that you don't adopt pets out to people in Egypt. Most people don't care one iota for animals. They end up back on the street and either get poisoned, thrown acid on their bodies, kicked in the head, get stones thrown at them and starved leaving them to die the most horrific death.
Bruno #Uno is an active, ginger and white 5-month-old Turkish Van mix. Full, full, FULL of life, he can entertain himself - and you - for hours. An independent fella, he is one of those rare kittens that doesn't need another kitten. He actually prefers to play with toys and with humans over other kittens. So, though we usually only adopt a kitten with another kitten or to a home with a kitten, in Bruno #Uno's case, we feel this is not necessary for him.
Bruno's appetite is as large as his presence. He is a sucker for wet food. He will sing for his supper with the most heartfelt meows and longing gaze until you finally surrender and give him his meal. :)
Bruno #Uno is also big on cuddling. Next to eating, his most favourite thing to do is snuggle up with you at bedtime.
This beautiful boy is a bundle of love, life and laughter. He brings joy everywhere he goes.
Adoption fee: $650 (including flight and travel expenses)
PINK’s adoption fee is determined on a cost-recovery basis which includes the cat’s vetting (this varies for each animal depending on the situation and circumstance of their rescue), microchip, up to date shots, de-worming, de-fleaing, spay/neuter, all travel and flight costs, government mandated fees (in Egypt and Canada) and the international carriers they flew to Canada in.
Because the animals come from abroad, there are many more costs involved.
Our goal is to help as many homeless cats and dogs on the streets of Egypt as we can. The fee you pay helps the Egyptian rescues recover their costs. Not only are you saving this animal's life, you are also helping to save another animal's life because the pet you just brought home has now opened up a space for the rescues in Egypt to offer to another animal in need.
