My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💜ZIPPER IS READY FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER TO ADOPT💜

Let’s talk about Zipper!!
She is a beautiful 1.5 year old Black Shepherd mix.
Her story just touches my heart ♥️ When Zipper first arrived she had 7 puppies only 1 week old.
Zipper was so afraid of humans. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has never been loved and petted in her past. She was NEVER aggressive but just curled up into the smallest ball she could when she saw us coming towards her. We worked with her slowly. We took her outside to potty on a leash because that was the only way we could get her in and outside. She watched contently how we interacted with our other dog. She started mimicking our other dog and doing what he did. When he came to get petted so did she and slowly but surly she became a normal house dog. She LOVES squeaky toys and has also learned to play. She does not like to be crated. She has a lot of anxiety when in a crate ( something we have seen with the shepherd breeds) and will do anything to escape from the crate. Even if it’s causes her physical harm. So we stopped crating her and she did great. She sleeps on our bedroom floor with our other dog and hangs out with him when we are not home. So the adopter must have at least one other dog. We feel that will make the transition for zipper much more successful. She counts on that companion. It will take her time to transition into a new home but now she knows that humans aren’t all bad and will need someone who is willing to work slowly with her just like we did.

Zipper is fully vetted...Spayed, up to date on all her shots, Heartworm Negative and microchipped. She is great with other dogs/cats she is also house trained.

If your a family willing to adopt Zipper and you have patients and willing to take it slow, have a fenced in yard...she loves to be outside!! Also has another dog for a companion for Zipper please fill out a application.
