Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jennie was one of the 10 dogs that were rescued from a goat farm. They were being raised as meat dogs, planned to be butchered during summer of 2021. They were tied on 30cm strings, which restricted them to even lie down properly. One rescuer decided to rescue all the dogs.
She is shy and wary at first with many things, but it does not take long for her to loosen up and have her guard down. When she had established trust with her foster dad, she had overcome various fearful factors very quickly during her foster care.
With strangers, Jennie is shy and fearful at first, where she will lie low on the ground and stay frozen. However, as the stranger presents treats to her, she will approach willing with wagging tails and take the treats very carefully. Though she backed off few times, as the stranger called her name gently and pets her in a loving way, Jennie opened up and seemed to enjoy the interaction. Because Jennie is an obedient and careful girl, she will have no problem living with people, including children.
With other dogs, Jennie was shy at first. However when the other dog showed no interest to her, she approached the other dog and started to introduce and sniff first. She sniffed very carefully with welcoming waggings. After this, Jennie showed no resistance against the other dog sniffing her and approaching her.
With cats, Jennie met a stray cat during her walks and showed no interest, almost ignoring the cat's presence.
Jennie has moderately high levels of energy. Her favorite activity is to spend time with others, such as friendly dogs or her caretaker. She also loves to chew on things, such as toys or blankets.
During walks, Jennie was afraid of new environments and had rather strong resistance toward leash at first. However, during her foster care, she quickly built trust with the foster dad and became used to the leash. She now is quite stable with the leashes during walks, though at times she will pull towards going back home.
**Jennie is spayed. All vaccinations are updated.
**Jenny is currently in Korea. She will likely arrive Vancouver sometime in July. The adoption fee for Jennie is $840 CAD including the airfare to Vancouver from Korea.
