Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In Coldwater
Hi friends! I’m Koda. I am an 11 month old border collie with boundless love and energy to share. I was owner surrendered to ASF, through no fault of my own, after having spent the first bit of my life living in an apartment. This was not an ideal situation for me, because again I have so much energy!
If you’re familiar with border collies, you know we need to run around or we get bored! I’m looking for a loving home with room to roam and play with my family and other fur friends.
I love everyone I meet whether they are dog, cat or human. My foster mom doesn’t think I’d ever met cats before I came to stay with her, but I learned quickly to give them space. Every now and then I need to be reminded, but I am a smart boy and learn quick, I also really just want to make you happy.
I will happily submit to any other dog in the home but they’ll need to be able to handle my puppy energy and play with me. My favorite game is tug of war! I don’t have a lot of exposure to little kids, but I am happy to greet the neighbor kids. I’m still learning some manners so be patient with me. My counter surfing and jumping on visitors has gotten much better, but you might need to remind me sometimes.
I prefer to snuggle in bed at night with the humans. I do not like to go in a crate initially but am content in there when the humans need to leave. I love to hike and am getting much better on a leash, you’ll just need to be a strong leader so I don’t get over excited and pull too much. Foster Mom took me road running, it’s not really my jam, but I enjoyed the time with her anyways. I can’t wait to meet my fur-ever family.
I am neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I also take monthly preventatives for those pesky fleas, ticks and heartworms. My adopter is required to keep me updated on heartworm medication.
I am fostered in Coldwater, Michigan.
