Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pilot is a friendly, medium to high energy pup. He has a blast in the yard playing with our volunteers. He loves to play fetch and has made quite a few dogs friends so far who he loves playing with too.
Pilot has a happy, fun personality. He would love an active family who will bring him on new adventures. He enjoys going on walks with the volunteers and other dogs from the shelter.
He is super sweet and loving. If you take a seat at the picnic table, he will jump up to be close to you and shower you with kisses.
Pilot is very food motivated and knows how to sit so far. He is a smart guy who should learn new tricks very quickly as he is eager to please and impress. He can be jumpy at times when he is excited so will benefit from a little bit of manners training.
A message from Pilot: I am a 3 year old, 63 lb. male (I am underweight so I will be more than 63 lb)
My paperwork says I am a Pitbull. Proud of it!
Dogs: I love to play with dogs. Let's party.
Cats: I don't know what those are

If interested in adopting from Lighthouse please fill out our adoption application. Instructions on how to fill out our online application are on our website here: https://www.lighthouseanimalshelter.org/application-instructions
Visitors are currently limited to approved applicants only. We will contact you when your application is fully processed to set up a time for you to meet our dogs.
We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches.
Please call all of your references (landlord if applicable, vet offices, and personal references) before filling out an application to let them know that we will be calling. We are an all-volunteer program and volunteers often make reference calls from their cell phone. It will be a number your personal reference does not recognize. We understand most people will screen their calls from unknown numbers so please tell them to keep an eye on their voicemail and give the volunteer a call back at their earliest convenience. We may end up playing phone tag with your personal references but will reach out to you if we need further assistance in reaching them.
Once we receive your application, we will check home ownership or landlord permission, personal references and vet references. We will reach out to you if we have questions during the process.
Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $450 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.
