Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Courage!
Courage was discovered during a TNR in River Oaks. Despite being emaciated and sick with conjunctivitis, he was found to be extremely friendly even while in the trap. Due to this, he was immediately brought inside since it was obvious he was not feral. His story remained a mystery until a neighbor informed us that he was hit by a car and left behind by his owners when they moved. From that incident he suffered a right fractured pelvis (from which he has since recovered but is still sensitive in that area) and a fractured right canine (extracted on 4/23/21). He is now fully vetted and ready to meet his forever family.
Courage is the definition of a lap cat. He cannot get enough snuggles and will be your bedtime buddy if you let him. He will pull himself as close as he can to you all while emitting a very loud rumbling purr. His favorite activities are watching birds and squirrels through the window while relaxing on a window perch, rabbit kicking his catnip sausage, playing with string, wrestling with the Ripple Rug, batting small items around the floor, trilling to himself and running with abandon through the house after a visit to the bathroom.
Courage was named after the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz as every time he was seen outside before being trapped, he would immediately run away. Courage does not like loud noises (he is also terrified of thunder) so he would be best suited in a house with no small children or dogs. It was also found he has an extreme fear of men but if a woman is there to provide reassurance, he will eventually warm up.
His ideal home would be where he can be the VIP so he can get all the love and attention. While he is not overly aggressive towards his current foster brothers, he has not figured out how to play nicely and highly dislikes change. He may one day adjust to having a feline sibling, but it would need to be one that is not easily bullied or an aggressor and who definitely loves to play as he is a playful boy himself.
