Hey everyone Bonnie here and guess what Mom says it's time for me to tell my story(apparently we all come with one) and get myself my very own FOREVER home. I guess I have come a very long way in the last month or so and Mom thinks I am ready to spread my wings and be on my very own....a "new chapter" she calls it and all I have to say is I am EXCITED. I came to rescue with my boyfriend Clyde when we were rescued from a woman's backyard, where she just used us for one thing puppy making :0( Some nice lady could no longer stand to see us there day after day night after night in all kinds of horrid conditions so she walked straight up to that lady's door and took us. She then contacted rescue and man oh man has that been the best thing that happened to us. We got to come to our current temporary home where there are other Bassets just like us and learn how to live the GOOD life. We get to be inside, on these wonderful things mom calls furniture and we get fed regular meals, we have these cool things called toys to play with. I have had a little harder time adjusting to living inside unlike Clyde who picked it right up and I have been quite attached to him through this adjustment. This doesn't mean we have to stay together, in fact I think it would be best we are separated, but this does mean I am kindly requesting I go to a home with other dogs. It will help me immensely in learning to trust and be brave around new things. I have also learned that a human touching me can only mean one thing LOVE, but I still get a little scared from time to time like when Mom throws treats for us....Mom thinks someone was once not so nice to me. But I'm not looking back only forward!! Mom thinks I would be okay with children, just older ones over the age of 6. Ones that understand to be gentle. Oh I have to tell you I am doing fabulously on my house training, got that doggy door thing down pat now. Since I do use a dog door any forever home I go to that doesn't have one will have to be have to be very patient with me and expect a few accidents while I learn the routine!! I am always going to be a small girl, probably never getting over 45 lbs at my full healthy weight. Small and packed full of love, that's me!! I am around 3-4 years old, UTD on all vaccinations, HW tested negative and on preventative and altered. If you would like to hear more about me please tell Mom I sent you!!
