My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Legend is such a special guy, with so many facial expressions. He likes to have his tongue out when he’s relaxed and doesn’t care what other think of it, sooo cute….He sometimes has a snaggletooth to the right, on special occasions to the left, and other times he lets his under bite do the talking. He is energetic and is ready at any time of the day to get attention, attention, attention!

He has that boxer paw action. He will put his paw on your knee or make a gesture to say ” I’m here. Now let’s do something that involves me”. He likes for you to throw the ball or fuzzy squeaky toy, and sometimes he will bring it back. But more often he’s just excited for you to throw it! He loves to do zoomies, and he would really appreciate a big yard – the bigger the better – so he can get his laps in!
Legend can be anxious and nervous in new situations or when he encounters new sounds or other experiences. Some everyday activities, such as being in the car, are very stressful for Legend. He would benefit from living with somebody who is understanding of Legend’s insecurities and can be patient with him as he gradually feels more safe in the world and with new experiences. A confident and friendly dog companion would also help Legend learn that things are okay and that he doesn’t need to worry.

Legend is not a fan of being alone, and he makes his displeasure known vocally. He would love to spend as much time as possible with his favorite and most trusted person – you!
In many ways, Legend is a puppy in a big dog’s body, and he’s a bit behind in his basic training. He knows how to sit and we’ve been working on stay. He’s not ready to be off-leash as his recall needs work! His family will need to work with him on these kinds of basic skills.
Legend has shown no aggression of any kind. He’s friendly to other people/children/passersby and is easy-going on the leash. He has the best wiggle butt west of the Mississippi and the way he comes running back with a toy in his mouth is so silly fun! He is observant of birds with has no care in the world, and he’s been sharing the deck with blue jays without a problem. He sees raccoons pretty close by and doesn’t need to further “investigate”. He will be a loving constant companion; he’s such a loving silly good guy and deserves to have it all! He’s L-O-V-E!
