Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi my name is Scout! I am a 2-yr old medium-sized Cretan Hound. Cretan Hounds were bred in Greece and are believed to be the oldest European dog breed. I am very active so I am seeking a forever home with energetic owners who have a large fenced yard for me to run and play. A wading pool is also highly desirable. The trainer has spent a lot of time with me so I have learned quite a bit since I came to the rescue. I enjoy playing in water, playing with toys and chew bones, going for rides in the car, and I am a great fetcher! I walk well on a leash but an experienced handler would be recommended because I will sometimes pull. Unlike a lot of dogs, I am not food-motivated so continued training using a leash is needed so that I am the obedient and well-mannered boy that your family deserves. I can be shy and fearful so I would do best in an adult-only household as an only dog, but I might be ok in the right situation if properly introduced to another large dog. With some patience and understanding I think I would be a wonderful friend. If interested in adopting me, please call 661-839-2200. Thank you!
