Hi, I'm Faye and I'm looking for a patient, dog-loving home.

I love splashing in the pool, going on walks (short or long!) and playing with squeaky toys. I know all my commands, am house-trained and don't mind being home alone. Plus, I'm a world-class snuggler!

I can be a little slow to warm up to new people and need help feeling comfortable in new situations. That's why my foster or adoptive family will have direct access to a dedicated team ready to offer as much support as needed, for as long as needed. These nice people will even take care of me when my family is out of town if needed!

Since I've been living with lots of other dogs at the shelter, I'd prefer to be your only pet - at least for now. An adult-only home would also be the best fit for me. Interested, but not sure? I'd make an excellent foster dog.

1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
