My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This boy is Bentley....just a young lad between 1 to 2 years old and almost 80 lbs of love. He came to us with severe separation anxiety. He was sent to a dog trainer and put on a mixture of calming meds to slow the activity in his brain some. This boy is active and loves the company of other dogs. Hix separation anxiety is not related to any bad behaviors. He is very smart and so willing to please. It is a mental condition just like any mental illness with people. You can't train it out of him but you can give him structure, consistency, appropriate exercise and companionship to diminish its affects. And that is exactly what he is getting in his foster home and he is thriving being the perfect gentleman. No separation anxiety is being displayed in his current foster.
To adopt Bentley adopters must be willing:
1. Willing to work with our vet at West Park Animal Hospital to maintain his medications and appropriate doses. These are drugs that can be called in to any pharmacy.
2. Live within 30 minutes Elyria/Grafton area for his foster parents and trainer to give appropriate support to new adopter.
3. Have another doggie companion for him to hang out with and play with.
4. Have a fenced in yard
5. Have someone who works from home or only works part time outside of the home so he does not have to be crated 8 hours daily.
