Update 7/7: We couldn't resist getting a DNA test for Ghost, and he is 68% Pitbull, 12% Catahoula Leopard Dog, and some other very cool mixes, including Scottish Deerhound!

This handsome and dashing gentleman is Ghost! Ghost was surrendered to the shelter when his owner had no time for him. He was emaciated when he arrived, but 3x daily feedings helped him gain some weight. He was very sad to lose the home that he had since he was a puppy, but his happy-go-lucky personality allowed him to make friends in the shelter and eventually make his way into our foster home.

Ghost is a fabulous dog! He is sweet, gentle, goofy, and loves affection. He has a medium energy level, and is quite content to lay next to his foster mom’s feet while she works, but once he is outside and ready to play he zooms around the yard, rolling in the grass and trying to get the other dogs to join in the fun. He makes his foster family laugh daily with his goofiness! He is a bit of a klutz and cannot help but bump into things or trip over himself.

Ghost is great in the house, calm and well behaved, and outside he walks nicely on a leash. His foster family has three other dogs (male and female), and Ghost gets along very well with all of them. His play style is a bit pushy, but he backs off when his foster siblings get overwhelmed. He loves to sleep next to his foster mom in bed but is equally content to snooze on his dog bed for the night. He enjoys chewing on bones and playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. He barks when visitors come to the door, but once they enter, he acts as if he has found a long-lost friend, smothering them with kisses and soliciting head rubs.

Ghost is about 4 years old and weighs about 60 pounds, but he still could stand to gain another 5-7 pounds. He is neutered, housebroken, up to date on all his shots, microchipped, heart worm negative, and crate trained. Although he is fine in a crate his foster family has been leaving him free in the house for several hours at a time when they are away, and he is perfectly behaved. His good looks get him a lot of attention, and he loves every person he meets. Ghost would be a perfect fit as a family dog.
