SUPER SENIOR ALERT! The shelter guessed my age to be about 14 years old and does not know my history. I am mostly blind, so will growl if I am surprised. I get around fine and mainly use potty pads. However, I have used a doggie door to go outside as well. I can be fearful of other dogs and prefer that they keep their distance. My perfect home would be quiet and with someone who is home a lot with no children or older children. I am available for adoption or fospice, which means that Kimie's Kritters covers expenses and you provide the care until it is my time to cross the rainbow bridge. My labs were good and my heart is strong. So, I am not terminal. But, Kimie is offering the fospice situation since it might be difficult for me to otherwise find my forever home. Here is my story: Kimie and Uncle Rick were at the Sacramento County Shelter picking up other dogs and, while walking through the kennels, Uncle Rick asked, "What's up with this dog?" The shelter staff said that I was available for rescue as well, at which time, I broke out with my "Dancing Bear" routine and Uncle Rick said, "We'll take him, too!" Truth is, Kimie wouldn't have left me there because she was so sad for me. I was missing most of my body hair due to an underactive thyroid (the meds are very inexpensive) and the fact that I was chewing on lesions on my back. Those have been removed and were benign. I also had a major dental done and have about 5 teeth left.
