My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy sweetness and silliness...and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These super-smart and very loving and loyal young babies are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone.

Taylor is a gorgeous Golden Retriever/Labrador retriever mix (according to the Arkansas vets..all we know is that she's absolutely adorable and irresistible!). Taylor is currently just 4 months old and weighs 10 lbs...her full-grown weight is expected to be just about 40 - 45 lbs of pure love.

Taylor is starting out with great energy and a very sweet and kind nature. At 4 months old, while being initially shy, Taylor's Arkansas foster mom is thrilled to inform us that this puppy is blossoming. After just a short time in foster care, she sees that Taylor seems happier and braver in her environment. She's becoming an adorable and fun- loving ball of love and sweetness that's emerging. We know that the long transport between Arkansas and Colorado will be a challenging setback for our sweet girl, but with love and patience, we know she'll come around and thrive.

Taylor is also incredibly beautiful...with a gorgeous and scruffy golden coat that speaks of her breed mix. Taylor's forever family, due to the scruffy nature of her hair, will need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and hair care) to keep her coat super-healthy, matt-free and as soft as cotton.

Taylor is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. Once this puppy is comfortable with all the changes in her life, She'll be so loving and cuddly. This snuggly little girl would be very excited to be a couch or bed dog and snuggle with her favorite people at the end of an active day. Even at just 4 months old, it's clear that Taylor is SO smart and very engaging and social - very typical of the Retriever personality. Many would say these two breeds are among the most intelligent and intuitive in the dog world.

Since Taylor is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - Taylor will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in her relationship/bonding with her people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.

Farfel's Rescue feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Taylor out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual or in-person trainers in your area.

We're open to Taylor finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a puppy that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Taylor enjoys her relationships with all humans and dogs...we would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development.

Taylor will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Extensive new research shows that Taylor is far too young to be spayed at this time.
When she's approximately 9 - 12 months old, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Taylor's microchip and spay if one of our rescue vets is used.

If interested in this sweet as can be best friend, applications are currently being accepted for this SO snuggly and super-loving puppy. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Taylor, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
