My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at www.seniordoghaven.org under the Adoption Process tab.

Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Quinn is a 14 year old petite brindle boxer mix, weighing in at 16 pounds. She was surrendered to the shelter by a neighbor of elderly adults, and was reportedly living in the garage.

Quinn is thin, and we are working to put some extra weight on her. She was vetted and only needed a dental, when one tooth was removed. She has normal vision and hearing, and does not take any meds. She did have a skin infection and lost the hair on her underside, but the infection has cleared up. Her lab results revealed early start of kidney disease, but she is 14yo. She doesn't prefer the kidney diet wet food so we continue with regular food for her

She’s been living in her foster home with multiple other dogs large and small without issue. Quinn is somewhat independent and really does not play or engage the other dogs. The foster home is full of seniors who spend most of their free time napping.

We continue to work on potty manners, and given the opportunity she is now 90% reliable.

She’s a very sweet girl with a tail wagging constantly with her people. Quinn enjoys the backyard and loves her pack walks. She has preferred a blanket on the couch or chair to a dog bed, and does not like the crate. She is not destructive, and is left to roam the house when her humans go out.

She’s looking for a forever home to live out the rest of her days where she can be spoiled, cuddled and taken on walks. I believe she would be fine as an only dog or in a pack. She could be cat tested if needed.

If you can open your heart to a sweet older gal to share her life with, Quinn is looking for you!!
