My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you asking why Sofia looks so sad? It’s because she just spent her first birthday STILL in rescue, without a real home of her own. Sofia was one of 17 puppies born to two different moms. Rescuers were tireless in their attempts to save the entire family, day after day, one puppy at a time.

Sofia is being fostered with our wonderful Director and her family. This lovely lady pup is fostered with dogs, cats, kids, chickens and is living her best life. She gets along with everyone and warms up to visitors. Once she knows you, this girl really lets her quirky playful personality shine. Once playtime is over, Sofia loves to make herself comfortable with you. When the alarm clock goes off in the morning, Sofia stands over her "mom" telling her it’s time to get up. Sometimes she even wakes you up with kisses!

Sofia is house trained and NOT destructive. The only consideration for this sweet girl is she's insecure so she needs another confident pup in the home to show her the ropes. Sofia walks well on a leash and is a fast learner too. She does not like car rides. We do not know where the insecurity came from, but it is something that we believe she can overcome with a few more positive experiences when riding.

Sofia loves to run but she is not super high energy. She could fit in with a competitive runner OR a low energy family that prefers a casual walk around the neighborhood. Sofia is very quiet and we haven’t really heard her bark, even when the other pups in her foster home decide to be alarmists. This lady is one of the special ones and truly deserves a HOME of her own. Remember that adopting is not just saving one life, you are saving two or more by opening a space. Please share, and consider becoming a foster or adopter.
