Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In Sullivan, Illinois
Meet Bandit!! He is a stunning blue merle Australian Shepherd. He is estimated to be about 6 years old, weighing about 60 lbs.
Bandit’s previous job was working on a farm. Bandit was a herding boy until he was no longer useful to them. He was then tossed away until coming to ASF. He does still enjoy herding the horses at his foster home, and is good at it!!
Bandit’s ideal home would be a country setting. However, he can be a city boy too as long as he gets love and plenty of exercise.
Bandit prefers the company of female dogs over male dogs and would be a best fit as an only dog or another submissive (female) dog in the home. Bandit is crate trained. Being an outdoor dog most of his life, he is still mastering the house training so consistency is key.
Bandit can be a chill boy but he also LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to play fetch with his tennis ball. He will even bounce it himself so he can catch it. Bandit warms up quickly and wants to be near his people. Bandit has even been known to keep a watchful eye over his home. He sleeps well on a dog bed, but is also quite happy to snuggle next to you in bed!!
Bandit is very intuitive in regards to how people are feeling, and it is my belief that he would be very good with someone who needs a companion or help feeling more secure. He is also quick to claim the house as his and will guard it from people he feels are not welcome. Bandit would also do well accompanying you on car rides. He also can be in the company of dog-savvy cats who do not run from him. (If they run, he’ll chase but doesn’t harm them.)
Bandit is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas/ticks and heartworms. No children under 12 years of age, please.
Bandit is being fostered near Sullivan, Illinois.
