My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Darla Mae! Darla is a beautiful blue (light gray) tabby about a year to 2 years old. She had a rough start to life. Darla and her 2 kittens, Carla and Marla were found in early December living in a sewer on a busy Culpeper street. Because of all she has been through, Darla is very shy. She is beginning to come out  of her shell and can be pet at times, however is not a big fan of being pet curretly.  She seems to really like men, and for some reason and is more affectionate with men.

Darla will need a quiet, low activity home with kids 12 years old or older or no children at all. She has been dewormed, spayed, had an FVRCP vaccine, a rabies vaccine, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration, meaning you will not have to pay every year to reregister. More about this rescue

Our rescue is dedicated to the cats that have been forgotten - strays that are shy and frightened, abandoned cats that once had a home and are trying to come into a home for shelter, cats that need a little more TLC than most to trust again.

These cats are struggling on our streets to be noticed, struggling for survival. They need our love, our compassion, our help.

They are the forgotten cats.
The cats that most rescues "don't have time for."

ALL cats deserve love.
ALL cats deserve a good home.
ALL cats deserve to be treated with respect and given care.

Given time, love, and nurturing, these cats become wonderful, loving housecats.

Our rescue is for the forgotten cats. In my home, they are known as the Shrinking Violets, and I have fought for their right to be loved, receive care, and the respect they deserve. Please join me with your support.
