My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Winston! Winston is a sweet boy, who the vets think is about 8 years old.He weighs about 16 pounds.

He is a Bichon mix, who has grey/black ears, and apricot and some grey mixed in with his white hair.

He was hit by a car a few months ago and has been healing from surgery on his right hip and leg.

He was shy at first but warmed up with love and gentle attention within a few days.

He is learning to trust humans. He has learned that treats given by hand are a wonderful thing.

He is still learning that his food bowl is his, and he won’t be in trouble for eating from it, even if his human is around.

He has learned that a hand coming his direction means he is going to get some back scratching, and petting, and he loves that!

He likes to be picked up and cuddled for a little while. When he is done being cuddled, he appreciates being placed down on the floor.

For now, his foster mom isn’t allowing any standing up on his back legs or jumping off her lap.

He gets along well with other dogs, small and large, and with the household cat.

His hair is growing out nice and wooly. He has a brown tip growing out on his tail, which he loves to wag whenever he sees his human, or at treat time or mealtime or anytime, really!

Winston goes in and out the doggy door, to go potty, but he may need a belly band as he gets a learning not to mark.

Winston does well with bathing and brushing, but needs patience with nail trimming.

He likes to explore the yard and hang out wherever his human is.

Winston travels well in the car, and is comfortable on a leash, but needs practice walking politely, as he has been on restricted activity during his healing time.

Winston would love being a part of your loving family, and promises to love you unconditionally, in return!

Children in the home need to be at least 10 years old. He needs another dog in the home or someone home most of the time. He is located in S. TX
