My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I am Gigi (HWTH#21139A). I am a Basenji mix, born 6/2/20 and I weight 26 lbs. My owner passed away and her family surrendered me to the California City shelter. I came over to Halfway to Home and now I am ready for a new forever family. I am a friendly girl who is shy at first but warms up quickly and I like to nuzzle up against my humans. Basenjis were bred to be hunting dogs and are very active so I need lots of mental and physical stimulation. A home with a fenced yard where I can run and play is the best fit for me. I would likely easily bored in an apartment or condo. We are very smart and learn quickly, so obedience training and maybe agility training would be a great way to expend my energy and at the same time learn what is expected of me so I can bond with you. I need an active family who likes outdoor activities and I may even appreciate another dog as a companion. It is important that any family that has children or other dogs bring everyone to the meet and greet so we can see how we get along.
