My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Sage (HWTH#21138A). I am a Shepherd (or perhaps Cattle Dog) / Lab mix, born 5/31/20 and I weigh 42 lbs. I came to Halfway to Home after being dropped at the shelter in California City after being caught running down Cal City Blvd. My family never came for me. I am feeling overwhelmed by my new surroundings so I have pretty much kept to myself. I am shy but sweet and I have shown no signs of aggression. The folks here are just getting to know me, but when they come to interact with me I am friendly. As a general rule my breed mix has a moderate - high activity level so I would likely be a better fit for a home with a securely-fenced yard so I have space to run and play as opposed to an apartment or condo. I walk very well on a leash. My ideal home is one with active people who have lots of patience and understanding and are willing to work with me to teach me what is appropriate behavior so that I can be a wonderful family member. I am not sure if I like children or other dogs so we'll have to find that out together when we meet. I hope you will give me a chance, I am worth it!
