Ms. Shelby Rae is a sweet shy little Papillion who is looking to find the right family to show her that she can be loved & happy. Life has been scary and uncertain her first 6 years, living in a kennel day after day with very little human interaction. This is her opportunity to put her breeding past behind her. She is learning that hands can be kind and she needs lots of time to come to terms with that.

Shelby is not ready to begin leash training, she may never be ready for a leash. Therefore, we will only consider a home that has an extremely secure physical fence. Her bottom is made out of springs, she is bouncy so her fence will also need to be TALL. Shelby can squeeze out of extremely small spaces & it will be imperative that she is not left alone outside.

Shelby's ideal home will be relatively quiet, with one or two other canine friends she can learn from. Her family will need to provide oodles of patience & time. This will be the key to Shelby making a successful transition into a home environment. After so many years of confinement, everything we take for granted in a home is all brand new to Shelby. Doorways, sounds, movement, appliances, grass, outside activity; this is all a new wonder to this shy sweet scared little girl.

Shelby has warmed up to her foster family and will bravely approach for a few pets and neck scratches. She tries to be very brave & really wants the connection and interaction. She is not comfortable lying in a lap or being carried too much. She needs time & demonstration to assure her that she is now safe.
