My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Millie!

Hi I'm Millie! I'm a gorgeous 10 month old chocolate lab, and I weigh about 45 pounds. My former owners gave me to Albert's because I need surgery to fix an ectopic ureter, which basically just means the tubes from my kidneys to my bladder aren't connected right so right now I have to wear a diaper. But it's really no big deal at all to me. I'm really good about wearing my diapers, cause I mean, look how amazing I look in them! Pretty soon I am going to be seeing the awesome vets in Madison to get this issue with my bladder taken care of, and once it's fixed, I will be a completely normal girl.

I LOVE playing fetch, both on land and in water. I was even told I would be AMAZING at something call dock diving. I also know some basic commands like sit and for the most part I don't chew up any stuff that I shouldn't. I love playing with other dogs. However, the real little ones that run and make squeaky noises get me a little too excited and then I get in trouble. Kitties too - if they run, I like to chase. It's just too much fun and my foster mom says something about my hunting drive. Boy! Oh boy! Do I love my people though and I am smart. In my foster home we have a dog door and I figured that out right away. I would love to continue learning new things with YOU! Right now I really need a new foster home because they have 8 of those crazy cats and it's just too tempting for me.

So if you think you might want me long term, please apply to adopt me! I'll be ready to go to my forever home after I have my surgery!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
