Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Please read carefully as we will only respond to inquiries /applications that match the following criteria***
Good with other small-medium higher energy, submissive dogs.
Needs another dog in the home
NO cats
Children over 7 years of age
Home with attached yard, secure 6ft solid fencing is a must.
No apartments/townhouses/condos
Higher energy herding breed needs a very active family
TROOPER is a darling little guy. Still a puppy at approx 9 months of age. He is just the right size standing about knee level and weighing about 40lbs. We have no idea what his breeding is! He looks like a miniature golden lab, he definitely has herding dog traits His shelter paperwork states terrier mix....so as you can see, there is a lot of guessing and without DNA testing, we can't be sure of his mix. TROOPER is as cute as can be though and has a very sweet disposition. His favorite thing to do is run and play with his JRT friend Gracie. TROOPER will do best with another young dog that can match his energy and play. His doggie friend will need to be friendly and playful!
TROOPER needs an active person/family that hikes/runs/mountain bike on a daily basis so he can expend his energy.
TROOPER is good in the house and loves to be with his person/people. He can be a little needy as he will whine/whimper when you leave...but those behaviors also subside if there is another interactive dog friend in the home to keep him company and play with....and of course if there is a stay at home person that helps. He is housetrained (he sometimes will do excited pees when he sees you) and he is crate trained as well.
TROOPER will give chase to the rabbits, squirrels and outdoor cats on the ranch or when he sees them on a walk...so it's best there are no cats in his forever home. He is pretty good on leash with the occasional pull when distracted.
TROOPER has a very sweet demeanor and is a very loving little dog too....he will cuddle with you on the couch and in bed too...He really bonds with and loves his person/people. He is okay with children, but due to his herding traits and sometimes snatching a toy from your hand when he is playing, he should be in home with children over 6 years of age.
TROOPER is a very active dog and will require a yard (the bigger the better!) and secure 6ft fencing.
TROOPER'S ideal home would be on acreage with another high energy dog to play with...An active person(s) who needs a daily running/hiking/biking partner. He is good in the car so taking him places is easy! Kids are a help to keep him busy and exercised too. Due to his energy level he is not suitable for apartments, townhouses or condos.
TROOPER"S adoption fee is $300 which includes, health exam, current vaccinations, neuter, microchip, flea and deworming treatment along with any other medical or dental deemed necessary by our veterinarian
