Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say "hello" to Poppy! Poppy is a 3-5 year old Feist. She is a little girl who only weighs about 30 pounds and has a cute little bob tail! Poppy was used for hunting squirrel and came to us when her owner could no longer care for her. Because she was kept in an outdoor kennel for her whole life, Poppy is scared and needs time to warm up to new people and places. But once she does, you will see her personality shine!
She is looking for a home with a fenced yard and another happy dog would be a plus to play with! Poppy loves to sunbathe and play fetch with stuffed toys and has made great strides in house training! She is crate trained and responds well to a structured schedule. We just know that Poppy is going to be a great addition to some lucky family! Will it be yours?
Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
