My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Girly!

She arrived to us from one of our shelter partners in the Houston, TX area.

She is with a foster family in Dyer, IN. They have a 3 yr old and 6 yr old and a male dog that is about 35lbs. She loves to play with their dog, see the video attached.

Foster mom describes her like this "She is a very playful dog. She has been sweet and tolerant of the kids. She knows how to "sit" “shake” and “lay down”. She is very athletic, a good runner and high jumper. She will need an active household that can keep up with her energy because she needs her walks and play time. Having another active dog in the house would be a plus.

She has been to doggy daycare and has played with a variety of dog personalities

She has gorgeous orange eyes!

Here she is with foster dad: https://youtu.be/4zs_Vjc4TCQ

Basics: She is a female, about 42lbs, approx 2 yrs old, up to date on vaccines, rabies

Adoption Process:

- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application

- one of our team members will get back to you.

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received.

- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, initial worming, and microchip.

-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
