My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi World, Meet Jasper! This floppy-eared fellow is a 10 year old, 80 pound Redbone Coonhound who is ready to steal your heart. True to his breed, this goofy hound loves to sniff around the back yard and hang his head out the car window and let his ears flap in the wind.

Some things you should know about Jasper:
- He loves to eat, and he'll let you know its time for a meal, because he's a vocal hound. He'll also clean up your kitchen at a moment's notice with his countersurfing skills.
- Jasper doesn't like being alone; he would do best in a home with another dog(s) to keep him company. He hangs out with foster canine sibling and cats (yes, cats!) when his foster mom is gone. Crates aren't his thing but he does just fine home with his foster siblings.
- Jasper gets along with cats and dogs, but does best when slow introductions are made.
- He likes to go for walks and does really well on a leash.
- Jasper gets along with people, but would do best in a house with no small children.

Jasper's hound antics have mellowed in his age, and like a fine wine, he's reached perfection. This goofy, mellow boy is ready to meet his family. He'll bring the love and joy, you bring the treats!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
