Hi! My name is Alcide (pronounced Al-Seed). I am about 2 years old and I am from Louisiana looking for my forever home here in Idaho. The nice ladies at my kennel gave me my name, I am named after a character in the Snookie Stackhouse series that is based in Louisiana. I am currently living here in Idaho and am current on all vaccines and microchipped.
My human foster brother left for college today and I am so very lonely while my foster mom is at work. I am a very good boy in my crate but really miss that companionship during the day. I sometimes get the run of the house while I am alone and I never chew things that don’t belong to me or go potty in the house! Like I said…I am a very good boy and love to snooze after my morning walk and my breakfast.
I walk well on my leash and get along with a lot of other dogs…I love to play with dog friends! I do get frightened when other animals bark at me so mellow, calm, friendly fur friends are best and I can be shy or get overwhelmed so slow introductions make me the most comfortable.
I am an early riser and look forward to my morning walk. I love to chew toys and enjoy a second walk in the evening. I am not aggressive with my toys or food and have learned that sharing is caring (plus my foster mom takes toys away if I forget to share.). I will sleep on my bed at night or if allowed with my human(s)… I really love to cuddle!
Many people are afraid of me because I am a pit bull but I really can’t understand why because I am such a sweet boy and love to meet new people! I am very friendly and very goofy once you get to know me… just ask my foster family, I make them laugh all the time. I have done well on dog friendly patios and make new friends everywhere I go!
Do you like the looks and sounds of me? My perfect owner would be a strong and confident owner that can help remind me who is in charge and if you have small humans they should be over 10 and can understand my energy level will match that of my companions. I can play fetch and tag but only if you like to tackle and wrestle like my fur friends.
